Writing style is odd to me. It uses a third person omniscient narration, but the way you constantly know what literally any character is thinking arrives at an odd cross-section when it’s also fairly sexist: I’ll know what a woman is thinking despite her only referred to as “the sister-in-law”. Which is in itself weird when she’s the mother of the girl whose death is the inciting incident.
