Not really a big fan of the plot or the characters. The writing quality also left something to be desired. I didn't quite understand what qualities the MMC had besides being mysterious. The murder investigation also seemed distracted in the wake of the spice. I'm glad the characters had a HEA but I found myself fast forwarding through the last half of the book because the mystery wasn't happening. Plot never picks up

Ch. 10 - Salem gets trapped in a closet and claustrophobia sets in. She has a panic attack. Caz helps calm her through it by pushing up against her. 😏 After she calms down, he proceeds to "draw" her literally by tracing a pencil over her body. A nip might've been involved. The giggle I giggled at this scene 😂
