Jayson’s Reviews > The Wicked + The Divine, Vol. 9: "Okay" > Status Update

Jayson
Jayson is on page 85 of 166

Notes:
(1) The first half of this is a detour down memory lane—callbacks galore.
- We have a string of cameos from hitherto-NPC background players, and key plot points that pull from both the main series and the one-shots.
- I particularly enjoy how they brought Woden's dead man switch back in play.
- Unless it's a big switcheroo at the end, I can see how things are going.

Jayson is finished

Notes:
(1) Okay, I'm not saying this was bad—my star rating speaks for itself—but it really went out with a whimper.
- On the Whoa! to Huh? scale, this falls decidedly near the latter.
(2) I felt the same way about the explanation about godhood and the Recurrence as I did at the end of the TV show "Lost."
- I expected clarity and all I got was vagueness and lazy meta-logic.

Jayson is starting

Notes:
(1) This series has pretty much been on cruise-control for the last couple volumes, hopefully this one ends it on a high note.
- As much as I appreciate all the flashback and supplementary content, we haven't seen much in terms of plot development.
- It's been conversation and backstory heavy, with most of the main story—since the heads reveal—taking place in a cage.
