ik i just started this book but it's CRAZY how similar fern's experiences are to mine when i was in a mental hospital
from the unspoken rules, the 'interesting' people locked in with you, strict authority figures, corny and decaying furnishing, the mental breakdown when you first get admitted, and most importantly, the mantra of "just do what we say and you'll get out so you can put this behind you"
