Megan And J. Edgar Hoover, very likely a closeted homosexual himself, had no problem implementing this order! Purging the government of anyone he believed to be homosexual…

And now they’re talking about overturning Obergefell v. Hodges… 🤦🏼‍♀️ Makes me wonder if my gay friends (well, I only have one very close gay friend right now, very different from university days) - a white male - will still support Trump if he takes away their right to love and marry who they please. It’s complete insanity.

I’m reading Medical Apartheid right now, which I saw you and one other friend of mine on here had also read (I believe Vanessa? A friend we have in common). I have no idea how Washington was able to complete this project given how repulsive the history is, but I certainly commend her on doing such an amazing job at presenting it in such an academic, fact-based manner. It’s this approach that helps those ignorant on the subject to finally open their eyes to the atrocities committed. The fact that there wasn’t more outrage when Kim Kardashian parodied Saartjie Baartman on the cover of Paper magazine says it all. 😔

I literally had to put it down for a bit when the hideous Dr. Sims performed a completely unnecessary surgery removing an enslaved man’s jawbone, to which, of course, the man fought against having performed. Then the man escapes, with Sims writing in his medical report, “Sam’s mouth is now always open in a wide grin.” 🤢 How sadistic can people be?! And now people continue to further support an administration that wants to deny the past. Awesome.

Julio The Fox Erin, there's a marvelous moment in the documentary BEFORE STONEWALL where a gay member of the WACS during the war told Eisenhower, "fire us and you lose half your staff". Ike relented and rescinded his order.
