I am getting attched with every chapter. How events changed from Murder discused as hit and run to spy war is insane

It is a tipical police story that I enjoy reading. The main protagonist Jack Tuesday is interesting character. He is investigating the death of an old friend suspecting it was a murder but still did not find an evidence to brove it. The novel events are slowly folding and the drama in Jacks personal life as he was united with his son from old affair. The novel reminds with old cozy police movies
