Superb. My fave by Goodis so far is Of Tender Sin, but this may challenge. But they are different; Of Tender Sin was a “disturbed weirdo with scary tendencies” novel, like In a Lonely Place, or Wisteria Cottage, whereas this is more like Green Ice, or even the movie Reservoir Dogs…with the odd, unexpected detour or two to something out of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. So, a little of “disturbed weirdo”.
