I see that by chance, just as I start reading it, they announce they've made and are releasing in January, an HBO series based on the book.

The jousting knights start 80 feet apart and begin riding towards each other...

...a short while later with 40 YARDS still between them...

Really enjoying this - continually reminded of what made me love GRRM's writing the day I picked up A Game of Thrones.

I'm immediately reminded of how much I love GRRM's writing. This is great - no idea why I slept on it for so long.

Carrick McCormack I really enjoyed this book. I really wish there were more short stories in Westeros, even as many of us want the main series books. They breathe more life into the history of what is a very interesting world.

Charlton It's a very interesting world, so many characters they could make good stories for.
