I am so throughly enjoying myself.

Oh man, we’re in it now!

I genuinely did not see that coming.

It’s so funny how this bit should not work, but it does. The writing is earnest and heartfelt; I really believe in the characters and their feelings. I really do think this author has genuine talent and passion.

Okay, that was a very cute childhood story. I like Mike, I really do.

That was the most childish joke ever but I’m laughing at it.

Oh, this is fun! We’ve got Mad Max: Fury Road four years before that movie came out! Oh man, this is great!

I see we’re going the Marvel/DC movie route. Dangerous situation? Might get killed any second? Perfect time to joke around! It’s so eye-rolling but I love it. Mostly in an ironic way, but I do love it.

I knew that joke was coming! Oh my gosh. Just a PSA for anyone interested in reading this or Megan Cole’s other book, Fortune: do not go into it expecting great literature. Expect a fun time, expect some surprisingly great bits of character growth, but also expect to be either rolling your eyes or laughing out loud A LOT. It’s genuinely fascinating.

Two mentions of iPhones already! The brand names strike again. But it doesn’t annoy me like it would in other books.
