The writing style is a little too emily henry esque with short easy sentences dialogue heavy prose and repetitive sentence structures to reaaaalllllyyyyy nail it home that “she was upset. She was sad. She had no where else to go”. Maybe this is just evidence I prefer older writing styles vs this new modern film-adaptation ready script style books
