It was not a good idea to read this whilst tired. I'm not sure what I read properly sunk in, although I think I somewhat get what the idea is between は and が. I'll just need more in-context examples to work with, although I suppose that's what reading is for...so maybe I should do that, ideally when I'm not tired.

Oh, so that's what gives with the Johnny Carson ほど...but also, I'm still making the mistake of reading this whilst not entirely awake. I'm wasting this book's potential; once I've finished it tomorrow, I'll need to give this a re-read when I'm actually properly awake.

We went into a bit of a ride over how much of a mess things like causative and passive conjugations can be and how complicated it all is if you're not remotely close to grasping them. I'm getting the impression that I'm going to have to refer back to this book every once in a while to ensure I get the most out of it.

I'm not entirely sure if I'm reading this way too soon for where I am with my Japanese comprehension, but if nothing else, it ought to help calcify some of the concepts that I already have some familiarity with but don't fully understand yet, whilst also giving me an idea of what to look out for.
