This is disturbingly late, but I feel like I’m at last “getting” the writing now (though I remember saying something like that 300 pages ago. It might come at you in cycles.) Maybe the break helped, maybe reading about linen in Das Kapital broke my brain.

Feel like one of the monkeys staring at the monolith in 2001. I know I’m in the presence of a titan work, that every passage contains latent commentary and context, that I could read it cover to cover 10 times over 100 years and find new content. And yet I only understand a surface area.
