Finally. A murder. Setting the stage and all that for over 100 pages of people I found only barely interesting, and that was only because I have loved Lord Peter and Harriet in previous books.

The story picks up once there's the murder. Before that, boring details about boring people. I can't help wondering if Sayes had written it and found her own story boring and thus problematic, unappealing for future work. The alternative is that Walsh wrote it.
