I was not expecting to like this book because not all writers can write like a story. I’ve rarely read a nonfiction nook with a can’t put it down feel.
The writer shows how history & politics impacted divides races/classes & how jaded legal systems can be with drug crimes/race/poverty. What living there is like. How a “jury of peers” and a crooked cop in a small town can ruin 60 lives for false crimes.
