Appalachian post Depression times viewing the life of a coal miner in Warriormine W.Va. The details are so vivid and times are so difficult, I felt like I was there with Blanche to laugh, hurt and and feel her fear when she sent her husband off to one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. This book is additive because I could not put it down. It took me to the next page before even I realized I had turned it.
