I'm so close to dropping this book because I simply don't care about anyone. The biggest crime ofthis book is how passively it's written as well as well, Alma, as sweet as she is so so UNCONVINCING in her revenge. And Aster, who is supposed to be teh god aiding her, is really, like toxic in almost an abusive way. so having a hard time just...getting behind it all.

This book has way too much passive voice. I struggled to put my finger on it. But there it is. It's moving but feels like you're being dragged along. Does that make sense.
