-outside of memory/ time/ illness, where her ruminations are evergreen witty and brilliant, this is too often either lit review or terminally online or hyper-specific to her public persona in 2020. Wish the book was more of the former and less of the latter, even as i understand+appreciate that she is trying to be incredibly true to form and have it be of the moment and streamofconsciousness

Maybe this is the most in-the-spirit way to read this book, to jot random streamofconsciousness thoughts at likely incorrect %s with a spirit of selfimportance. This Karenina part would make a lovely essay in a lit mag, and i am tired of reading it.
This reads too harshly considering that i enjoy reading her writing immensely and think she is clearly brilliant. Cant wait to read a novel of hers that isnt this one.

-quotes w no citation are maddening!! Esp. Since this is classified as fiction, so you can play w form and function, irresponsible and plain confusing. See what shes trying to do with it, as far as really being in her mind, but it just serves instead to take me out of her mind and halt the flow of thoughts.
