The prose in this book is top-notch. The words spin themselves into scenes and the scenes whirl through your head, until you can't put it down.
Also this:
"What was he doing, allowing criticism from a fair face to distract him as though he were a gangly, besotted boy? He was no boy, and he abso-blooming-lutely was not besotted."
