It's 3 am. I can't leave this book from my hands. Angela Davis has a talent for writing in a very engaging way. And oh my god, how come I've never dived deeply into studying the history of slavery before? Maybe because there's so much to it. There are manyy lessons from the slaves' resistance for today's struggles. And now I also get to understand how the womanhood of today was shaped by the experience of slave women

Angela Davis is the best. Some academics are good at exploring deeply into one particular thing while others like Davis can weave a tapestry of so many previously disconnected parts. This connecting of the dots opens up so many new insights to delve deeply into.

Yessss, exactly! I am always feeling like I can see things so much clearer after reading or listening to any of her works or speeches. We're so blessed to have Angela Davis as such a brilliant and outspoken activist and academic.
