Nayan Nitesh I am absolutely, irrevocably in love with Douglas Adams! I have been wanting to read The Hitchhiker's Guide To Galaxy for quite some time now. But when this book caught my eye at a footpath book store, I couldn't resist. Boy o boy! It has been such a revelation. Mr. Douglas was such a cool guy. Part nerd, part environmentalist, part author, part philosopher, part visionary and all awesome. His commentary on the existence of God, which found its way in this book, is a must read. He is so concise and subtle and humorous that I was surprised how he so effortlessly discussed a perpetually controversial topic without throwing mud at anyone. His writing can elicit a laugh from the most smugly souls. I would do anything, more or less, for lines like these: " I could tell I was in England because I was sitting in the rain under a wet blanket in a muddy field listening to some fucking orchestra in a kind of red tent playing hits from American movie soundtracks. Is there anywhere else in the world where people would do such a thing? Italy? Tierra Del Fuego? Baffin Island? No. Even in Japan, where national pastimes include ripping out your own intestines with a knife, I think they would draw the line."
