I finished the main part of the book! I really do feel like I’ve made huge improvements, even some subconsciously, that have made my life and routines exponentially better. I have systems now, habits that I am building, stacking, making easy and appealing. And it seems so easy and doable. What a fantastic book!

The 2 minute rule! It’s funny because I started implementing this tonight without knowing. It was a very meta experience deciding to read for 10 minutes and reading about just dumbing it down and getting started. I will be using the pathway to becoming an early riser. I’m excited to do.

“…motion allows us to feel like we’re making progress without running the risk of failure”(142). This book continues to point out things that I believed were normal and flipping them on their head. I feel vulnerable but also encouraged to really take steps in the right direction as to take action rather than just motion. The first habit I want to take repetitive action on is sleeping at a good time.

Time to rig my brain! The next step for me is to identify all the habits I want to do so I can stack a habit I need to do before hand. I can use some habits from my habits scorecard as habit I already due to cue the new habits. Current habit —> habit I need to—> habit I want.

This book immediately reflects real life. I had a conversation about breaking habits last night essentially with the intention of willpowerimg my way through any temptation, come to learn that is the absolute least effective way of making a change. I need to change my environment and reduce base cues so I can fill my space with more good cues for good habits.
