Finished The King of the Golden River. In this fairy tale, the bad are punished and the good rewarded. It has a particularly lovely ending. My edition had a few of the original illustrations by Richard Doyle, and now I am on a quest to look at how different illustrators have chosen to depict the story.

The Story of the Three Bears, made popular by Robert Southey, featuring an unkempt old woman. Apparently Goldilocks didn't come around until 1904!
