Jacob said that he’s finally giving Bella up, after comparing the triangle situation to the story in the Bible about the two women fighting over the baby. He says he’s the better one than Edward cause he’s “not going to cut her in half anymore”. He’s surrendered. The thing is Edward actually surrendered a long time ago and was ready to give up Bella for Jake if that’s what she wanted.
