This may very well take 84 years for me to read all the way through, but I'm not mad about it (every single poem is spun glass and bright flame and inevitably drives me insane -- like head on my desk sobbing insane or senselessly lying face down on the ground insane -- and I'm content to let Herbert's poetry do that to me for the rest of my life, whether I have 8 or 84 years left on God's green earth)
