So far, the book is really slow and there is a lot of stuff that could be cut out. I don’t like how the characters’ beliefs contradict themselves. I can’t identify with characters that have a victim mentality. The characters blame their race for their problems and rich white people as the reason for their problems. Then in the next breath say they got where they are with hard work. So which is it?
