More I am confused about this oddity of Russian Literature, the more I want to locate sources of information giving another side to the lopsided novel. Myth, theology, Russian Soviet cantankerous obsessions with power and cruelties, absurdities and terms Bulgakov used to make this a treasure, but how much should thought or angst in locating a meaning of this work to my own reading and literary background needs???
