Maybe the part about going to Eastern Europe to find Old World vampires was more entertaining in the show? I appreciate the tribute to the vampire tradition though.

For this first third of the novel, I picture Lestat as an evil puppet, just murdering people, screaming "Louis, you idiot!", and caring too much about the furniture.
