The Gaze of Stone, 5 ⭐️: set around 1032 BBY this is the first story revolving the Sith in the official canon. I love how Mann writes about the Sith and Jedi in a way that makes them mysterious even to die hard Star Wars fans. I felt I was learning something new the whole time about the Sith, and as always, lore and fable were weaved together flawlessly.

Vengeful Waves, 5 (star): The style of this collection is really suited to telling a broader history of groups of people, and that showed here in this fable of the fall of the Anselmi. I loved the messaging here about the wrongs of colonial conquest and rejecting community in favor of attempting to hold dominion, and how this can lead to a peoples' downfall.

The Skiff and the Galleons, 4 (star): I'm starting to create a sense of Mann's writing style and I really love how his tone of each story makes you really feel the epic scope of this universe. I wished the side characters in this were developed better but overall this was a great take on a turtle wins the race type of story, and a great origin for Batuu.

The Silent Circle: 4.5, I really loved this beautiful and fantastical legend about trees of the living force set 30,000 BBY. The word choices really set a mystical tone for the story, and it served as a great allegory for the Jedi Council (and power structures in general).
