truly horrific actually. just so bleak. feels good to have finally ticked that one off the list i guess? it was grim learning more about what torture does to the psyche. felt like orwell really got way too into the world building with creating the language and stuff, there was some unnecessary tangents and also some unnecessary sexism. yuck but also regrettably an important read.
