It is so weird to call something unpredictable and chaotic 'reality static'. I get the reference to radio static, but static means almost the exact opposite. Especially weird in an inworld context, where noise being described as static must have arrived from somewhere else that it did in our world?

Not a critique of the book, just a weird thing that confused me for a moment.
