DNF - turned into a real slog. Very expansive covering over a thousand year. Felt quite selective. Would benefit from writing the story in defense of the thesis, rather than explain a thousand of history from thesis’s perspective. Stopped around page mid 400s / 900, turn of the 19th Century. Decision to put it down definitely influenced by less interest in 19th C.
