Finished Part II. There really has never been anyone quite like Octavia E. Butler. Her work is so absorbing. Its directness and clarity is intensely refreshing and moving.

It’s been a while since I’ve read any of the late, great Octavia E. Butler’s work, and I’m once again deeply impressed by her spare, unflinching, brutal prose. It’s a wonderfully effective contrast to the last couple of novels I’ve read.
