The 2nd chapter has provided historical examples of attempts to escape (communes in the 1960s, Epicurus' Garden) and the inevitability of politics in 'utopias.' Doubtless, current anxieties are precedented by a time of shootings on college campuses, foreign war, & Nixon's authoritarian aspirations; as well as by the 1930s' pre-war anxiety and economic strife. Today's questions have been answered by others before.
