genuinely what in the world is going on

okay, this is where the book's similarities with red rising END. i wish i was reading this as a physical book rather than listening to the audiobook, because there's so much important info it's hard to keep up sometimes! i'm enjoying it so far though, and vis is growing on me.

so far i'm really trying not to compare this to red rising, but it feels like a less eventful red rising, mixed with every fiction book where the overly confident teenager gets humbled whilst they train for something important.
