Amber > Status Update

I want a romance or subplot romance, but struggling to find a well written one. I’m picky about character development, plot, and prose. I love books like The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden or Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. I did NOT like ACOTAR and Fourth Wing. Terribly written in my opinion nor did I like the main characters. Any fellow picky readers have some suggestions?
