Part of me wants to DNF this because I get the strong sense that Danielewski intentionally wrote this to be a waste of time as a sick joke. The other part of me wants to finish just to say I did and so that no one can criticize me for having not done so when I complain that the book is not as smart as everyone pretends it is.
