it's like what everyone says, it's a slow start at the first volume but it's supposed to be like that, so we can comprehend the world-building, the magic system, and all the characters trait. everything about what happened in volume 1 is well written, and i genuinely enjoy the journey so much that i didn't realize i finished this faster than my usual pace.

i should stop glazing this peak novel

joined the lotm community discord and damn, so many new readers like me got into the novel because of the donghua. talked to someone who finished it and out of curiosity i asked how long it took him. he said around 2 to 3 months, reading 8 to 12 hours a day. that's actually INSANEEE, you could finish hundreds of books at that pace.

or maybe it's just some kind of a culture shock for me, is it normal? idk

rereading this after months, since the first time didn’t stick. the power system? confusing. the worldbuilding? dense. the lore? might as well be an academic paper. but now that the anim– i mean, donghua is out, i'm impressed by the animation and how the story is told. suddenly everything in the first act makes sense??? anyway, wish me luck diving head first into all 1400+ chapters.
