"The barge slipped from its berth and away into the night: a narrow retreating shape, and then just the point of the lantern, winking and vanishing against the glittering sky." Gives me Ninefox Gambit vibes at this point. Also, I adore the visions it conjures of interstellar travel. Much preferred to a gritty, "realist" dystopia aesthetic.
