Why? Why does the past seem to be an exact mirror of the present? Even down to the number of siblings and family dynamics. This is such an uninspired choice, making the obviously fictional premise seem more unbelievable. The number of times that the plot and character choices have pulled me out of the story is simply remarkable.

The ML has just confirmed that he’s a Tory. I sometimes wonder why, in KA's books, people from opposite ends of the political spectrum can make a long-term relationship work. Their values are inherently different. Perhaps the reason is that they’re white, meaning the left-leaning character’s (usually the FMC) political opinions are simply that, and not tied to her rights and existence.

…is this going to be my first Kristen Ashley-DNF?While I haven’t been liking the (main) characters, I‘ve at least found the story interesting. But even that is rapidly losing my interest now. It just feels so drawn out. I still have 8 chapters + epilogue to go!!! Why??

I‘m sorry but none of these people behave like adults. It‘s like reading YA but the characters have jobs. Also I‘m starting to dislike the ml too. The scene with the kitchen table had SA-vibes…

The fmc is dum and ridiculous. Like she is actually just not very smart or clever. This makes this a rather frustrating read atm. Let‘s see if I can get over the fmc‘s lack of intelligence and her resulting ridiculous and plainly dumb actions.
