I am sucker for an author reading their memoir, and I have been waiting on this one. Renner says form the beginning that he's not a write; he's not wrong. So far, his style is very matter-of-fact and and somewhat repetitive. Turns out, he's not much of a narrator, either. I would have thought recalling the most frightening and painful moments of one's life would illicit from emotion in the narration, but not really.
