Ok! The reason for reading this is twofold: it's Halloween week, so a ghost story seems appropriate, and I'm inclined to finally induct Michelle Paver to the 10-book club. I'm rather well-read in early classic horror, and this feels akin to Poe's Gordon-Pym... let's see how I get by.
