I absolutely love my salt cohort. I went to return the 2nd and 3rd Southern Reach books to the person I had borrowed them from only for her to immediately offer her brand new signed copy of this 4th most recent installment which she has yet to read. And that is the copy I am currently reading. And already I have a feeling this may be my favorite book in the series.

My goal is to finish this book tonight. It's taking me longer than I expected. In my head I have split this book into three sections. The third section is by far my favorite in this book. The second my least favorite. Hence why I slowed down and it has taken me so long to read. I kind of expected it to just get worse the longer I read. But that was not the case and I'm actually really loving this final section.

My water bottle leaked in my work bag where I was keeping my copy of this book and I then spent a week trying my best to manage the water damage and then the guilt since its a loaned copy kept me from picking it up for a while but I'm back in it and I'm still really enjoying it. It's a little slower and more tedious than the other books but still fun and engaging, it just takes more effort to pick up sometimes imo.
