Is this a standalone?

Seems like it. It’s very good so far. I was buddy reading with Dab but she couldn’t stop reading and I got hung up on the World Series lol.

Understandable. It’s cut into my reading time as well, lol.

Good re: standalone. I’m not big on mystery series but would like to try this author sometime.

Yes this is not connected to any of her other series so no cross over character pop ups either. Her other stuff is set in Victorian England and this is gilded age Chicago. It’s also dark mystery romance.

What. They were in disguise. I could run into them in the street and would recognize them lol since its been so long since I was them in a show.

I didn’t read the blurb, the book showed up in my email so I wasn’t turn off by it lol. It’s weird but I hardly ever read blurbs anyway, i have been burned by them too many times.

“In disguise” only in the loosest sense, so that People magazine could still report on them to keep their careers on life support. Lol. Honestly, did anyone EVER care what Jason Bateman does? 😂 And I haven’t noticed Chris Pine in years, not since he played Captain Kirk. *fail horn*

I dunno, ozark was pretty good so Bateman is ok, but he’s no big celebrity lol. Chris pine I can’t distinguish from all the other Chris’
