At this stage I am going to take a break from this book. While the writing is very good and the story is engaging, as a current first year PhD student, this story is not providing a cathartic or escapist experience that I need right now. Hopefully this can be a fun summer read!

Perfect book to read as a new graduate student. Feels like satire that hits close to home. I suppose I should be reading for escapism but maybe a book about going through hell to save your academic career will be cathartic in some twisted way…
