Pleasantly pedantic halfway in. On the one hand, girl isn’t having unnecessarily hostile crosscultural drama with her modern cousin (Donkor’s Housegirl) or cliché evil stepmother. That said… a little foreboding would be nice. Like ghost of her dead brother or something. Is this just a bold protagonist to whom nothing bad ever happens?
