I visited my local Silent Book Club today and found not a chair in sight, so I left after standing in line for 30 minutes to get my coffee. I was disappointed to have RSVP'd under strict rules to not show up without one, only to find not enough seating, but most disappointing was the slew of unwelcoming looks from everyone as I tried to find the host and a seat.
