Done. I like the time period and Reid does a great job illustrating the different kinds of love. It’s also fast-paced and entertaining. The problems I had with is the way the author forces things down the reader’s throat, as if she had some chips on her shoulder and used the story to get it out. Because if this, the dialogue between Evelyn and Monique felt unnatural. Three stars.

Celia gets on my nerves. Is she serious? Causing all this fake drama because she’s petty! Unbelievable. Husband #6 is wrapping up and I’m heading into the last one. Husband #7 is gonna be a repeat of husband #4, that Rex guy. I like Evelyn’s personality, though her dialogue with Monique is forced sometimes. Monique apologized to her…what…three times now. That’s the author getting in her own way!

The best relationship in this book is between Evelyn and Harry. It’s written very well. Heh, it reminds me of a very good friend of mine who married her best friend (who’s white and interested in me) so she could be dependent BAH.

Just started with husband #3. Well this book ain’t boring. I’ll give it that. It’s a teeny bit preachy and very predictable. And I’m sure I already know all the story beats, but other than that, it’s light, entertaining reading. I’m gonna read Little Women after this. I never read it, but I own it and this book manages to spoil it a bit!

Read the first three chapters. This is way out of my zone…seems like chic lit so far and I don’t read that. I’m thinking that Monique is going to have a bone to pick with her parents when the interview is over. Weird that Hollywood glamor is considered the 60s in this book. I always thought it was 30s-50s. I wanna get to that part as I was always interested in old timey Hollywood. Eve=Elizabeth Taylor? Heh.
