Hi everyone! I’m doing a MS in English and one of my classmates asked me to recommend him a book so that he can practice his English. However, he a) likes classics (and I don’t) and b) doesn’t speak a very good English (he’s a A2/B1 level). What book would you recommend him? It would be his first time reading in English, so nothing too long, or difficult, or boring, or solely focused on romance

Jupiter (God’s Version ✝️) uhhh i don't read many classics either, but maybe smth like dracula or frankenstein, or like around the world in 80 days, or little women or smth

Rayna Frankenstein maybe? The problem with most classics is that they’re so hard to read even if you do understand the language they’re in 😩.

✨Hailey✨ Animal farm is a short classic that’s easy to read -no romance- I found it a little boring though. People say great things about The Little Prince and it seems more entertaining (young adult/children’s book)

Jo the lottery by shirley jackson is very short and could be a pretty easy read for a beginner i think 🩵
