And she immediately runs into her high school crush again and he’s very nice to her and her reaction is to be a huge b to him again for the 4th time for absolutely no reason.

Like why does this girl have such bad issues in her perfect atraumatic upbringing.

5) she also mentions her bff was having a terrible time with family stuff and drugs or something (?) and being known as the school slut so maybe that’s why she’s acting out and Ellie should maybe be a good friend

3) she has a crush on a boy who doesn’t think she’s too lame because number 1 and he even is trying to date her it seems but she screws its up two separate times because she decides to be a b*tch to him instead of just telling him she likes him back
4) she’s mad at her BFF from high school for kissing her crush after she was a total b to him

The thing is Ellie had a perfectly fine high school experience it seems. If anything she is the reason for all her “problems”.
1) she wasn’t a part of the cool group at school (like the jocks) but she said she had friends and a best friend and she wasn’t bullied, so why does this matter??
2) she was a little overweight but then she lost the weight, so again why does we care

Only 50 pages in and I already have to leave a review because this book is already killing me.

First off, Ellie is a successful 28ish year old writer in LA who is up for a promotion to her dream job as executive producer. The only issue is she writes for a teen drama and hated her high school experience. That’s all fine except her boss makes her attend her high school reunion for inspiration or something???
