I think I've read this trilogy 4 or 5 times, and the second trilogy twice. When I heard the last chronicles were coming, I read all 6 again to prepare for the first new book. An excellent back to back read. There was a lot of depth I had forgotten, and some of it fed directly into the last chronicles.

Yeah, I got the Last Chronicles as gifts, and it’s been decades since I read the first two trilogies, so I decided to reread them all to reset the story in my brain. It’s obvious this is a 45-year-old fantasy novel, with a lot of stylistic choices that feel dated today, but there are some very good elements as well.
